Entries sought for 2010 Bright House Networks Star Teacher Award

Central Indiana teachers can win up to $3,000 in prize money if they conceptualize and implement a successful in-class curriculum based on cable programming now through February. Entries are now being accepted for the 2010 Bright House Networks National Star Teacher Award.

For more than 20 years, the program has recognized the most innovative teachers throughout the country who use valuable resources and cable programming available through Cable in the Classroom to educate their students. For 2010, each winning teacher will receive at least $1,000 and up to $3,000 if their project is selected as a winner. In addition to the $1,000 or more prize money, winning teachers or teams of teachers will be invited to attend a special Education Celebration and will receive a Tiffany Crystal Star.

Teachers or teams need to enter their projects by March 1. Ten teachers from throughout the nation will receive first-place prizes. To be eligible, teachers must work in a state-accredited public or private school in grades kindergarten through 12 located within a Bright House Networks service area. Classroom projects should have occurred between September and February 2010. For more, visit Bright House Networks online and click on the Star Teacher Award link.
