Bariatric Center at CRH completes 400th procedure
As a communications professional, it is rewarding to work with a client long enough to see them achieve some long-term goals. An added bonus is when that goal also helps people lead a healthier lifestyle. The gifted surgeons The Bariatric Center at Columbus Regional Hospital recently completed their 400th bariatric procedure. Some significant statistics to note in the Bariatric Program are:
- The average patient loses 78% of their excess body weight over the first year after gastic bypass.
- Weight loss surgery is a cure for Type 2 Diabetes. At CRH, 70% of the time after gastric bypass, Type 2 Diabetes comes under complete control (requiring no medications) within one year.
- Over 90% of weight loss surgery is completed laparoscopically at CRH, even in patients over 300 pounds.
If you know someone who is 100 pounds overeight and suffers from one or more comorbidities, weight loss surgery may be an option. The next two free information sessions are Thursday, August 20 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, August 29 at 9 a.m. or visit columbusbariatrics.com for later information sessions.
We are fortunate that a group of patients from the Bariatric Center have agreed to help us with the marketing program. In fact, they are one of the reasons for its success.
